Finished: Swoon

Yes, the Swoon is finally finished. I finished putting the binding on it last Tuesday and I am pretty pleased. I think that I will enter it into the county fair next year since I believe I have missed the PIQF deadline already.

It looks nice, I think.

  1. Sew pretty, Jaye! I was checking out your blog yesterday. I think you have done some marvelous quilts. I like how you take both an academic and creative approach to your quilting life. Do you ever teach classes? The Bay Area is my home also. If you do share your knowledge in person, I’d love to glean some of your perspective. you are accomplished in areas in which I wish to grow. I’ve only started learning to quilt over the last year, but much to my heart’s delight – and with a bit of fear and astonishment, my quilty discovery seems to have become an obsession and a spiritual balm so to speak. Hard to explain, but ever so lovely.

    1. Hi Polly,
Thank you for your kind words and for noticing that I take both an academic and creative approach to quiltmaking! I try to create a good mix of the two. Nice to know that you are nearby. If you live ont he Peninsula or in the South Bay, you have to come to the Bay Area Modern meeting. The next meeting is on the 14th. It is held in Redwood City at the Main Branch of the Public Library. I do teach, though I haven’t taught an organized class at a shop in awhile. A friend has just rented a studio and will soon be offering classes. She has asked me to teach there, so I am looking forward to that. I am glad you have joined the quilting world. I look forward to meeting you.
      Jaye
