En Provence – Almost a Quarter

En Provence - almost a quarter
En Provence – almost a quarter

I made good progress on Saturday. I have nearly a quarter of En Provence sewn together. I probably need another row of the pink stars on the top and one the side to have a full quarter, but progress is being made.

I am pleased with the way it looks. I think it is turning out well. some of the light blues are a bit light and do blend with the text fabric background. I hope that will add interest. The larger squares I am adding in are working well. I am very pleased I decided to use a controlled scrappy palette. I think it gives the quilt a cohesion it wouldn’t otherwise have.

I am not sure when I will get to this quilt again, but I hope to finish it soon. I have to day that I kind of just want this piece done. I REALLY like, but I just want it done.

  1. I like this a lot. Is it me, or are some of those 4-patches turned wrong? Is there suppose to be a parade of light blue squares on the dark blue melons?

This looks like it will be fun to quilt.

    1. I am trying to keep the lights in the same orientation throughout the quilt. It does look weird in places, especially because some of the lights are actually mediums, but in general the lights are lighter than the darks. As you probably surmised, I will not be quilting this.

  2. Just one of my absolute favorites of all of your WORK!!! Thank you for continuing to share. It always inspires me to get back to work.

  3. When I saw the picture of the quilt, I actually thought that it was a piece of art that you had photographied.
This is so beautiful! I love the background fabric and the colors are wonderful. Can’t wait to see it finished

    1. Thanks! I am pleased with how it is turning out. It is taking some time to piece, but will, with any luck, be worth the wait. I made some changes, but it is, essentially, a Bonnie Hunter pattern.
