She <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2018\/04\/meeting-inspiration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">showed me some blocks<\/a> she had made using foundation paper piecing. I decided to make some of these using my scraps without the foundation paper piecing. I have made so many of these quilts now that they have become part of a series.<\/p>\n<p>When I started making the quilts in this style, I just made a few blocks from strips and sewed one quilt. The white might be the most successful so far. It is far more monochromatic than the others. I really like it, however impractical it is for a donation quilt. I finally started it in December 2023. Mostly my black-grey-brown drawer was overflowing and I needed to clear it out. I started making black strip blocks, but quickly also started making grey blocks. I was able to finish the black quilt first.
