Are you already a member? I created that spot so those of you without blogs and websites would have a place to post your responses. Please join and look at all of the great artwork that people have posted.<\/p>\n<p>I have been working on Rhythm for the design series this week, so the word &#8216;melody&#8217; jumped out at me.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.wowmelody.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Melody Johnson<\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Melody\" target=\"_blank\">Definition<\/a>: A <strong>melody<\/strong> (from <a title=\"Greek language\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Greek_language\">Greek<\/a> <em>???????<\/em> &#8211; <em>mel?id\u00eda<\/em>, &#8220;singing, chanting&#8221;),<sup id=\"cite_ref-0\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Melody#cite_note-0\">[1]<\/a><\/sup> also <strong>tune<\/strong>, <strong>voice<\/strong>, or <strong>line<\/strong>, is a <a title=\"Linear\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Linear\">linear<\/a> succession of musical tones which is perceived as a single entity. In its most literal sense, a melody is a combination of <a title=\"Pitch (music)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Pitch_%28music%29\">pitch<\/a> and <a title=\"Rhythm\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Rhythm\">rhythm<\/a>, while, more figuratively, the term has occasionally been extended to include successions of other musical elements such as <a title=\"Tone color\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tone_color\">tone color<\/a>. It may be considered the <strong>foreground<\/strong> to the background <a title=\"Accompaniment\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Accompaniment\">accompaniment<\/a>. A line or <a title=\"Part (music)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Part_%28music%29\">part<\/a> need not be a foreground melody.<\/p>\n<p>Melodies often consist of one or more musical <a title=\"Phrase (music)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Phrase_%28music%29\">phrases<\/a> or <a title=\"Motif (music)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Motif_%28music%29\">motifs<\/a>, and are usually repeated throughout a <a title=\"Song\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Song\">song<\/a> or <a title=\"Piece (music)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Piece_%28music%29\">piece<\/a> in various forms.
