I created this spot so those of you without blogs and websites would have a place to post your responses.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zipper\" target=\"_blank\">Definition<\/a>: &#8220;A <b>zipper<\/b>, <b>zip<\/b>, <b>fly<\/b> or <b>zip fastener<\/b>, formerly known as a clasp locker, is a commonly used device for binding the edges of an opening of <a title=\"Textile\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Textile\">fabric<\/a> or other flexible material, as on a garment or a bag.<sup id=\"cite_ref-1\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zipper#cite_note-1\">[1]<\/a><\/sup> It is used in <a title=\"Clothing\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Clothing\">clothing<\/a> (e.g., jackets and jeans), <a title=\"Luggage\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Luggage\">luggage<\/a> and other bags, <a title=\"Sporting goods\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sporting_goods\">sporting goods<\/a>, <a title=\"Camping\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Camping\">camping<\/a> gear (e.g. <a title=\"Tent\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Tent\">tents<\/a> and <a title=\"Sleeping bag\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sleeping_bag\">sleeping bags<\/a>), and other items. <a title=\"Whitcomb L. Judson\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Whitcomb_L._Judson\">Whitcomb L. Judson<\/a> was an American inventor from Chicago who was the first to invent, conceive of the idea, and to construct a workable zipper.<sup id=\"cite_ref-2\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Zipper#cite_note-2\">[2]<\/a><\/sup> The method, still in use today, is based on interlocking teeth.
