An <a title=\"River island\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/River_island\">island in a river<\/a> or a <a title=\"Lake island\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Lake_island\">lake island<\/a> may be called an <a title=\"Ait\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ait\">eyot or ait<\/a>, or a <a title=\"Holm (island)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Holm_%28island%29\">holm<\/a>. A grouping of geographically or geologically related islands is called an <a title=\"Archipelago\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Archipelago\">archipelago<\/a>, e.g. the <a title=\"Philippines\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Philippines\">Philippines<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>An island may be described as such despite the presence of an artificial land bridge, for example <a title=\"Singapore\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Singapore\">Singapore<\/a> and its <a title=\"Johor\u2013Singapore Causeway\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Johor%E2%80%93Singapore_Causeway\">causeway<\/a>, or the various <a title=\"Netherlands\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Netherlands\">Dutch<\/a> delta islands, such as <a title=\"IJsselmonde (island)\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/IJsselmonde_%28island%29\">IJsselmonde<\/a>. Some places may even retain &#8220;island&#8221; in their names for historical reasons after being connected to a larger landmass by a wide land bridge, such as <a title=\"Coney Island\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Coney_Island\">Coney Island<\/a> or <a title=\"Coronado, California\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Coronado,_California\">Coronado Island<\/a>.
