I received a box back from ScanCafe and I found an early photo of the <a title=\"Hideous Tarts\" href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2010\/04\/hideous-tarts\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tarts Come to Tea<\/a>. It is amazing to see how it has progressed and to realized that the quilt is still in process. Sigh.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_26796\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26796\" style=\"width: 300px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/TartsEarly-sm.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-26796\" src=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/TartsEarly-sm-300x187.jpg\" alt=\"Early Tarts Come to Tea\" width=\"300\" height=\"187\" srcset=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/TartsEarly-sm-300x187.jpg 300w, https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/TartsEarly-sm.jpg 931w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 85vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-26796\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Early Tarts Come to Tea<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>I started this quilt pretty soon after TFQ and I made <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/quilts-2\/quilts-1996-1999\/she-had-to-have-her-latte\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>She Had to Have Her Latte<\/em><\/a> and I was still thinking that novelty fabrics would be a good idea.<\/p>\n<p>Those novelty fabrics were jettisoned at some point, but some of the elements stayed. Even some of the placement basically, stayed.<\/p>\n<p>I also started out using much darker fabrics.<\/p>\n<p>I do still have that vase, which I like and may make into another applique type quilt.<\/p>\n<p>I am not sure how I feel about these improvisational pieces now. Clearly, I am having trouble finishing the Tarts, despite keeping it on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2014\/02\/current-projects-february-2014-26-projects\/http:\/\/\" target=\"_blank\">the list<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I don&#8217;t often have something to show for Throwback Thursday.
