The Peacock binding is finished almost puts me back in the black in terms of fabric usage. I have to make the sleeve and that should take some yardage as well. My fabric used list is still really suffering from being away from my sewing machine, tempting new quilt shops and just generally fabulous fabrics.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Finished 2017 Non-Quilt Projects<\/strong><br \/>\nWhile finished quilts are thin on the ground, as you know, I have been sewing and I have finished a number of small projects. I try not to put away projects, because that will ensure I never work on them.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/tag\/city-sampler\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">City Sampler<\/a> \u2013 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2016\/12\/city-sampler-continued\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">blocks all made<\/a>. Need to sash the blocks and finish putting the top together. Due to some issues I had with my seam allowance, some of the blocks are smaller than others, so I will have to adjust them in some way &#8211; either adding a piece or two to the block or with sashing. I have the sashing fabric and it is washed, so the only thing stopping me from getting going is time and other projects.<\/li>\n<li>Dots &amp; Stripes HST Quilt (or Something) &#8211; half square triangle blocks are made. I have to lay them out and see what is what with them.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"EPP Stars\" href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2016\/02\/epp-progress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">English Paper Piecing Project<\/a>\u2013 half hexies \u2013 I am still making stars. I <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2016\/11\/pre-thanksgiving-work\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">am still using the big stack of fabrics<\/a> I cut over Thanksgiving to make them. This piece is a weird shape otherwise I would just finish it and move on.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/tag\/en-provence-mystery-quilt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">En Provence<\/a> \u2013 I finished the the third clue and plan to cut more Peaky and spikes at Craft Night for the next clue.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2016\/12\/foty-2016-early-december\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">FOTY 2016<\/a> \u2013 I knew it was time to start arranging it and didn\u2019t realize I was stalled until I saw Ellsworth Kelly\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/m8.i.pbase.com\/u22\/brownsf\/upload\/12669378.EllsworthKelly.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spectrum Colors Arranged by Chance, 1951-53<\/a>. Now I am excited again about it, so it is closer to the top of the list. 6 months into the year and I need to get on it.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2015\/12\/lobster-placemat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lobster<\/a> \u2013 I still have more stitching to do and then I need to quilt it.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2017\/06\/triple-star\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Triple Star<\/a>: I am cutting out the pieces in between\u00a0 other projects.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2009\/04\/pamela-cqfa-2\/pict3895sm1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Under the Sea<\/a>: class project; like the design and am happier with the colors. I worked on it a little at Craft Night recently.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Still WIPs<\/strong><br \/>\nI still have WIPs. Who doesn\u2019t, after all? A project in the \u2018UFO\u2019 category means I am stalled. A nicer way of saying UFO is a WIP. The list is a lot shorter and the projects are newer, for the most part.<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2012\/08\/2011\/07\/sampler-quilt-update\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Aqua-Red Sampler<\/a> \u2013 I need to lay the blocks out and put the piece together.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/tag\/improv-round-robin\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">BAMaQG IRR<\/a> &#8211; this was never on the list before, but I have clearly been working on it for a long time. I think the last time I even really thought about it was in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2016\/06\/bamqg-irr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">June of 2016 when Ruth returned it to me<\/a>. The last post has some good ideas about what I need to do next.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2015\/09\/octagon-9-patch-returns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Octagon 9 Patch<\/a>: It is ready to put together. I could have used it as leaders and enders for a number of different projects I have going, but I didn&#8217;t. Not sure what I am waiting for. Do I want to lay out the blocks more carefully? I actually have a plan for it, so I should get on it. I should do a lot of things.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2012\/08\/2010\/06\/basting-quilting\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Tarts Come to Tea<\/a>: I still haven\u2019t worked on this since April 2011, though, I did bring it to the 2017 CQFA Retreat as a potential project. It is still in a prominent location so I have easy access. I just signed up for the BAMaQG retreat, so perhaps that will be the time.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2014\/05\/pointillist-palette-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pointillist Palette #4<\/a>: Fourth is a series of 6 quilts; needs tiny square patches sewn together. No progress.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2016\/02\/quiltcon-day-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pies and Points<\/a> from Victoria Findlay Wolfe class. No further progress. I did wash the background fabric I found when I went to Portland, so I am ready to cut. I need to focus on this and it is not up high enough on the list yet.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/3198\/262\/1600\/Portrait.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Self Portrait<\/a>: started in 2006 at a <a href=\"http:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2006\/06\/pamelala-teaches-at-quilting-adventures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">class at Quilting Adventures<\/a> in Richmond, Virginia. As mentioned my career counselor breathed new life into this project for me. She asked a simple question and the end result was inspiration for this piece, but I kind of lost steam again after printing images on paper to try out different designs. Lately, I have stopped feeling like I need to finish this piece. I am not ready to give up on it yet. I think it really needs major surgery.<\/li>\n<li><a title=\"Serendipity Lady Starts\" href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2014\/03\/serendipity-lady-starts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Serendipity Lady Quilt<\/a>: no progress.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2015\/06\/a-few-more-stepping-stones\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Stepping Stones #2<\/a> \u2013 I am ready to make the border blocks , but haven\u2019t gone beyond designing the blocks yet.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2016\/11\/lozenge-quilt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lozenge quilt<\/a> \u2013 need to trim blocks.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Ready for Quilting<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2017\/05\/carpenters-wheel-row-3-section-1\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Carpenter&#8217;s Wheel<\/a> &#8211; I took this to Colleen&#8217;s last week and am waiting for her to get back to me. I am hoping it will take less time than the Peacock.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>In Quilting Process<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2016\/01\/thanksgiving-decorations\/20150901_220325-1sm-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Thanksgiving tablemat<\/a> \u2013 I started quilting this piece at the 2017 CQFA Retreat. I made good progress, but it isn\u2019t finished yet. Another BAMaQG retreat project?<\/li>\n<li>Theoretically, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2015\/02\/tbt-early-tarts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tarts Come to Tea<\/a> is in the quilting process, though I haven\u2019t worked on it in a while. It did come with me to Retreat and almost made it high enough on the list to get some love.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Binding<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2016\/02\/peacock-quilt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Peacock Quilt<\/a> \u2013 finished quilting; have to pick up from my quilter, so I can bind.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Hunting and Gathering<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2015\/05\/quilt-inspiration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">30 Something<\/a>: I am still cutting 1.5 inch squares. I am pretty sure I have the 800 I need, but I am not ready to sew these yet, so whenever I have a chance I cut more. It will give me choice when the time comes. I\u2019ll have to think up a new name, too.<\/li>\n<li>Blue Gradation Quilt: cutting 2.5 inch x 4.5 inch blue rectangles<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2014\/04\/pink-and-blue-lemonade\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Blue Lemonade<\/a>: cutting blue, green, purple 2 inch squares. I used a lot of these squares for En Provence, so I will need to cut more.<\/li>\n<li>Pink Gradation Quilt: cutting 2.5 inch x 4.5 inch pink rectangles<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2011\/05\/hooked-on-hexagons\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Spin Wheel<\/a>: really not started, but supplies gathered. I probably have enough fabrics and just need to decide to start.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/windmill-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Windmill<\/a> quilt: Still hunting and gathering. I am supposed to be cutting a variety of greys for the background. I bought a new template, so I should be able to get going again<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Other<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Stepping Stones #3 using the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2012\/10\/and-in-other-news\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Macaron pre-cuts from Hoffman<\/a>.
