I need to remind myself of this fact as I embark on another finishing jag. I may have a lot to do, but I have also accomplished a lot.<\/p>\n<p>Finishing <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2022\/07\/finished-pies-and-points-top\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Pies &amp; Points<\/a> put me back in the black on Fabric usage. After buying background fabric for <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2022\/07\/the-pantone-project\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Pantone Project<\/a>, I was in the red. I have finished couple of quilts and am happy to be more into the black for Fabric Usage. Gross usage is 78.75 yards, but new fabric in is 67.50 yards, which means I am only 11 yards in the black.<\/p>\n<p><b>Finished 2022 Quilt Projects<\/b><\/p>\n<div id=\"gallery-1\" class=\"gallery for me to stitch. I am continuing to try not to put away projects. I find putting a project away ensures I never work on them, because I just lose steam.<\/p>\n<p><em>Quilts<\/em><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The circle quilt is on the design wall waiting for what comes next. Really it is just three circles that may go into the BAM orphan block pile or become a quilt.<\/li>\n<li>I have my <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/tag\/bullseye\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Orange You Glad<\/a> blocks back, they are trimmed, cut into quarters and I need to send them off to Friend Julie and Adrienne.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Small Projects<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Most of my progress involves thinking or just cutting. I don&#8217;t have a bag in process at the moment.<del><\/del><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ultimate Project Organizer \u2013 another project from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=T097xnM79Fo&amp;index=4&amp;list=PLj9jdzKVN1ecXRVsY8gqTRJWoz94dWc5Z\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Crafty Gemini Organizer Club<\/a>, also on my list, but not yet started<\/li>\n<li>Retreat Organizer \u2013 another project from the Crafty Gemini Organizer Club, also on my list, but not yet started. Recently, I saw one of these made up and I am not so nervous about it<\/li>\n<li>Rose Petrillo bag \u2013 I found the pieces for this bag cut out, but not sewn.<\/li>\n<li>Superbloom tote using Hindsight fabric \u2013 not started<\/li>\n<li>Westchester shirt \u2013 this is a <a href=\"https:\/\/craftygemini.com\/shop\/westchester-dolman-top-hard-copy-pattern\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Crafty Gemini pattern<\/a>. I bought the <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2018\/10\/piqf-2018-thoughts-and-purchases\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">fabric at PIQF in 2018<\/a>. I have the pattern pieces cut out and ready to sew. I was held up by the supply list which wanted a Jersey needle. SIL #2. I have finally given up on doing this shirt on my own. Mary C is going to look a her calendar, let me come over and hold my hand while I finish it.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>Handwork<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I decided that some of my projects are in a different class because they are hand piecing or embroidery or beading. They take longer. Thus I created a new category and have moved some projects here.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a title=\"EPP Stars\" href=\"https:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2018\/10\/epp-stars-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">English Paper Piecing Project<\/a>\u2013 half hexies \u2013 I worked on this project again while I was waiting for La Pass Month 11 to arrive. Who doesn\u2019t, after all? A project in the \u2018UFO\u2019 category means I am stalled. A nicer way of saying UFO is a WIP. The list is a lot shorter and the projects are newer, for the most part.<\/p>\n<p>I am annoyed that some of these are still WIPs. I just need to work on them!<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/tag\/handbag-sampler\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Handbag Sampler<\/a> \u2013 this is still the forgotten project. It should be on the UFO list. The blocks were teaching samples when I taught a sampler class some time before I started writing the quilt class sampler <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/aq-projects-tutorials\/aq-tutorials\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">tutorials<\/a>. I found one block recently, but otherwise I don\u2019t actually know exactly where the blocks are hiding. I crawled up in the far reaches of my fabric closet to see if I could find them and they weren\u2019t where I thought. I am sort of mystified as to where they could be. I haven\u2019t even found a picture of all the blocks. WTH?<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2015\/12\/lobster-placemat\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lobster<\/a> \u2013 I still want to make this into a tablerunner for the buffet. I think that will be a good and fun use of the piece even if the colors aren\u2019t quite right for the dining room.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2014\/05\/pointillist-palette-4\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pointillist Palette #4<\/a>: Fourth is a series of 6 quilts; needs tiny square patches sewn together. No progress.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/Portrait.jpg\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Self Portrait<\/a>: started in 2006 at a <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2006\/06\/pamelala-teaches-at-quilting-adventures\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">class at Quilting Adventures<\/a> in Richmond, Virginia. After a brief burst of inspiration, I am stalled on this again. As one of my oldest (I am pretty sure) UFOs, I put it on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2018\/04\/whats-your-oldest-ufo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">my blog<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/artquiltmaker\/status\/987744235699879942\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">out into the Twitterverse<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ddrquilter\/status\/987747460075458560\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Diane suggested that I not consider this as a self portrait<\/a>. I think that strategy is a great idea. I am now trying to think of a new persona for her.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/tag\/serendipity-lady\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Serendipity Lady<\/a> \u2013 I am still planning to take this piece to be framed. It might need a bit of quilting first.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2018\/08\/progress-on-rd-piece\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Who Am I<\/a>? \u2013 This piece is still languishing. Perhaps having a larger design wall will help me regain momentum. The amount of satin stitching I was facing was a problem until I thought of BIAS TAPE. I am going to make the words with bias tape, perhaps different widths, then I won\u2019t have to&nbsp; satin stitch everything. Red Scribbles and Friend Julie helped me come up with this solution.
