I was sort of interested when Sarah talked about it. She also wrote a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sarahannsmith.com\/weblog\/?p=14371\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">post about the embroidery<\/a> function, specifically. I saw that the price is almost $20,000. I am not going to do enough machine embroidery to justify that price. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.janome.com\/machines\/sewing\/continental-m7\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">M7<\/a>, I thought was the same, but the non-embroidery version. It isn&#8217;t the same, but is &#8216;only&#8217; $8000. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.janome.com\/machines\/sewing\/continental-m8\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">M8<\/a> is $9000 and also not what I was thinking about. Hhhmm. Maybe they don&#8217;t sell the one I was imagining. Or maybe I imagined it! How would you be able to iron your quilt projects? The good thing is that you can raise and lower the height to suit your body&#8217;s needs.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Projects, Classes, Patterns &amp; Tutorials<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Natalie from Sew Hungry Hippie has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=5AtUDgw74NA\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tutorial<\/a> on using the printed vinyl she sells, like the glitter vinyl I swooned over.<\/p>\n<p>Check out Sarah&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sarahannsmith.com\/weblog\/?p=14092\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">tutorial<\/a> for Lapped and Felled seams.<\/p>\n<p>Sweetseamz has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/CzRmkrUv1om\/?igshid=MW92ZzZ0dzRwdnR6eg==\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">great version<\/a> of the Retreat Bag from <a href=\"https:\/\/emmalinebags.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Emmaline<\/a>. Her modifications make it much more useful! The <a href=\"https:\/\/emmalinebags.com\/products\/the-retreat-bag-pdf?_pos=8&amp;_sid=1044d8fce&amp;_ss=r\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Retreat Bag is a free pattern<\/a>, though you do need to buy the frame, if you don&#8217;t make your own. I have made a few of these, like the <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2021\/12\/sugar-skull-retreat-pouch\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sugar Skull version<\/a>, and like the open wide design.<\/p>\n<p>If you want to learn rotary cutting, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=v_WOt7hGHoc\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">video<\/a> that Carrie shared with me is pretty good. Jennie at Clover and Violet talks about using <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3FZG0Ip\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Creative Grids<\/a>** rulers and the same kind of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3MMHQ2U\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Olfa rotary cutter<\/a>** I like. Her point about not using the cutting mat lines to measure is excellent. Please note that pressing your fabric before you cut improves accuracy<\/p>\n<p>Bonnie Hunter has started her annual mystery quilt again.
