It has <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2024\/04\/black-and-grey-improv-donation-tops-start\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">taken awhile<\/a>, though much of the time was it hanging on the design wall going nowhere.<\/p>\n<p>I did a good job working through my odd sized grey scraps, which is the whole point of the exercise. I am even more convinced that improv works much better in a monochromatic palette. I think that a complementary color scheme would work as well. Also, in this color scheme I could imagine it working well for a boy.<\/p>\n<p>I used the leftovers from two quilts for the back: the <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2025\/01\/hugs-a-kiss-quilted\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hugs and a Kiss quilt<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2024\/10\/finished-half-hexie-star-quilt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Half Hexie Star<\/a>.
