The latest is the Pearce Sling. I started it for my mom.<\/p>\n<p>A few months ago, I made her a <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2025\/03\/finished-paint-tube-day-trip\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Day Trip Wallet<\/a>. I made it so she wouldn&#8217;t carry a 40 lb. purse around after her surgery. She uses it all the time, but when she came over she had the Day Trip looped over her shoulder (cross body) and her hands full of stuff. Not great for someone with balance issues.<\/p>\n<p>The Pearce sprang to mind. I bought it with the recent <a href=\"https:\/\/sewsweetness.com\/products\/the-league-of-extraordinary-bagmakers-vol-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">4 pack release<\/a> of patterns from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sewsweetness.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Sew Sweetness<\/a>. This isn&#8217;t one of the patterns I thought I would make from the 4 pack, but I am kind of glad I am making it. It is slightly larger than the Day Trip, so I thought it might work for my Mom to keep her more hands-free.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>I haven&#8217;t made a backpack before, but I think I can do it.
