I really need two ends of the table on the same side. I like being able to see the whole room both when I sew and write. I could move the sewing machine. Instead I took the space at the other end of the table and put my computer and journal there. The view isn&#8217;t as good, but I can see out the window, which I like.<\/p>\n<p>The projects I brought were:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Pacifica Quilt Club pillowcases<\/li>\n<li>Mini One Handle Totes<\/li>\n<li>Chickadee backpack<\/li>\n<li>Sad quilt block<\/li>\n<li>Morning Glory<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>I think I was overly ambitious.<\/p>\n<p>The projects I actually made progress on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li style=\"list-style-type: none;\">\n<ul>\n<li>Pacifica Quilt Club pillowcases &#8211; finished<\/li>\n<li>Mini One Handle Totes &#8211; significant progress<\/li>\n<li>Morning Glory &#8211; a tiny amount of progress<\/li>\n<li>Portland pillowcases &#8211; complete<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Still, I had a great time and I forced myself not to hibernate away by myself sewing the entire time. After all, I was in a different city where they have interesting things to see and do. I also have family there and wanted to spend time with them.<\/p>\n<p>I spent a day with Amanda. We went to lunch at a great Thai place and then visited <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2017\/04\/quilt-shop-review-modern-domestic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Modern Domestic<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2024\/07\/portland-bolt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Bolt<\/a>. Both shops are pretty much the same as they were last time. There I cleaned and helped rearrange some furniture.<\/p>\n<p>I also got to see my GrandCat, Penelope. The next day the YM went back to the storage with my sister. She has a trailer and brought a strong friend. They were able to quickly clean out a few bits of furniture. After I dropped him off, I went to Rose City Quilts. I almost said no, but decided to go and spend some time with her, so I went. I went on Sunday morning at 9:30, which I thought would be a quiet time to go being after the sugar high of Halloween. It was pretty quiet. I spent an hour or so hanging out with the elephants, which I found very calming.<\/p>\n<p>I saw a lot of other animals, too: Lamprey eels, a giraffe, two tigers who were sleeping, two rhinos-also sleeping or maybe resting, a flock of flamingos. I don&#8217;t think flamingos are very nice birds, but they are pretty.<\/p>\n<p>I tried to visit Paramount Sewing again, but it was closed. They are closed on Monday and I forgot it was Monday. I helped her a bit with her <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/tag\/running-with-scissors-tote\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Running with Scissors bag<\/a> and we discussed her <a href=\"https:\/\/artquiltmaker.com\/blog\/2026\/11\/i-like-sewing-with-marym\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Hideout bag<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Mt. Shasta looked really different.
