At the guild we started our ninth, I think, month of the UFO challenge. My list is thus far:

        5. Megan’s Bone Enigma–done – this month’s project, but I had to finish it to send it to a friend so it has been done for awhile.

        10. Joni Tote bag
        11. Catalan Storage Cube
        12. Pandora Charisma –done

This month #10, the Joni Tote Bag,  was pulled. Another happy choice, though all the projects are good choices at the moment. I was looking at the pattern and thinking about cutting the bag the rest of the way out right before Sew Day so, serendipity.

I actually didn’t get to it until I got back from my Wisconsin trip. I was disappointed in the pattern, frankly. It was much smaller than I thought*. I am making it the size given, but will use my new Quilter’s Assistant Proportional Scale** to try the pattern in a larger size later.

Also, the pattern is a video pattern. The written instructions are super basic and then you have to go watch the video, which is one of the complaints I had about the Crafty Gemini Organizer Club. Fortunately, this is not a complicated bag, so I know, pretty much how to make it and can make some easy changes with no problem.

I was also disappointed that some of the pieces that show are not lined. They show the SF101, which I don’t want to see even for an internal pocket. Fortunately, I know how to make a lining and am lining what I want lined.

I have been busy, but need to get back to the project. I have the sides done and need to add the handles.

Don’t get me wrong. This bag has a great shape, lots of pockets and various handle options. Sew Hungry Hippie is a great business. My issues have to do with the way I learn.
