I saw the pattern in Easy Quilts magazine, bought the fabric and made the top using the leaders and enders method of putting pieces together. I was actually kind of shocked when I finished the top, because I hadn’t really paid attention to sewing the quilt. It is kind of bonus quilt.
I do like the lines of vertical color, but I also like the horizontal lines of pattern. This wasn’t something that I noticed when I was making the quilt. I didn’t notice it until it was held up to be photographed. It made me think that this pattern could be used successfully with other fabrics, such as the Philip Jacobs large scale flower prints.
This quilt was exhibited at the San Mateo County Fair in 2014 and won an Honorable Mention.
