This prompt is a bit of self indulgence. I won 4 ribbons at the County Fair, which is held this past week in our county. I was amazed and awed that I had won the first one I saw, then my eyes must have been bugging out of my head as I visited each of the pieces I had entered and saw ribbons on all. Definition (computing) – “In computing, a ribbon is a set of toolbars placed on several tabs. Book: “A Treasure’s Trove: A Fairy Tale About Real Treasure For Parents And Children Of All Ages is an illustrated children’s book written by Michael Stadther and published in 2004 by Treasure Trove Inc, which he incorporated to do so.^[1][2] The “real treasure” was found by deciphering clues in the book that led to fourteen tokens that could be turned in for unique jewels, each representing an insect or character from the book, or a cash prize representing one third of the jewel’s value.^[3] Initially, it was reported that there were twelve jewels,^[3] however, it subsequently emerged that there were fourteen prizes. Definition: Starfish or sea stars are echinoderms belonging to the class Asteroidea.^[2] The names “starfish” and “sea star” essentially refer to members of the class Asteroidea. However, common usage frequently finds these names also applied to ophiuroids, which are correctly referred to as “brittle stars” or “basket stars”. About 1,800 living species of starfish occur in all the world’s oceans, including the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic and Southern Ocean regions. Starfish occur across a broad depth range from the intertidal to abyssal depths of greater than 6,000 m (20,000 ft).

Starfish are among the most familiar of marine animals found on the seabed. They typically have a central disc and five arms, though some species have many more arms than this. The aboral or upper surface may be smooth, granular or spiny, and is covered with overlapping plates. Many species are brightly coloured in various shades of red or orange, while others are blue, grey, brown, or drab. Starfish have tube feet operated by a hydraulic system and a mouth at the centre of the oral or lower surface. They are opportunistic feeders and are mostly predators on benthic invertebrates. Several species having specialized feeding behaviours, including suspension feeding and adaptations for feeding on specific prey. They have complex life cycles and can reproduce both sexually and asexually. Most can regenerate damaged or lost arms.

The Asteroidea occupy several important roles throughout ecology and biology. Starfish, such as the ochre sea star (Pisaster ochraceus), have become widely known as an example of the keystone species concept in ecology. The tropical crown-of-thorns starfish (Acanthaster planci) is a voracious predator of coral throughout the Indo-Pacific region. Other starfish, such as members of the Asterinidae, are frequently used in developmental biology.

Laughing is an involuntary reaction to certain external or internal stimuli. Laughter can arise from such activities as being tickled,^[1] or from humorous stories or thoughts.^[2] Most commonly, it is considered a visual expression of a number of positive emotional states, such as joy, mirth, happiness, relief, etc. On some occasions, however, it may be caused by contrary emotional states such as embarrassment, apology, or confusion (“nervous laughter)” or courtesy laugh. Factors such as age, gender, education, language, and culture are determinant factors^[3] as to whether a person will experience laughter in a given situation

Laughter is a part of human behavior regulated by the brain, helping humans clarify their intentions in social interaction and providing an emotional context to conversations. Laughter is used as a signal for being part of a group — it signals acceptance and positive interactions with others. Laughter is sometimes seen as contagious, and the laughter of one person can itself provoke laughter from others as a positive feedback.^[4] This may account in part for the popularity of laugh tracks in situation comedy television shows.

The study of humor and laughter, and its psychological and physiological effects on the human body, is called gelotology.
