My review

rating: 4 of 5 stars
I think this books ends nicely, but VERY surprisingly. I was pleased with the ending, which I didn’t see coming at all. I am glad that Terri doesn’t torment her readers with bad situations and that Dewey was able to learn some lessons in order to move forward. I think that haranguing readers with problems of the characters who can never learn their lessons drives readers away. Terri does some things in this book, like fire Kym, which was totally necessary to move the story along. Getting Dewey and her brother back together was great as well. I was confused during the first couple of chapters. Concerned that I blew through them too fast, I am reading them again. I can see that this series will go on. Such series always make me want a compendium with bios of the characters, more background information.

  1. I saw comments on another list about Terri’s books. I just checked out “Wild Goose Chase” at our local library. There were several folks ahead of me for this newest book of hers, so I will read the one I got and see if I like it. I’ve heard great reviews though!

  2. Terri is a local author in my guild. It is good to read her books in order. You get introduced to the characters and situation in the first book. Hope you enjoy it.

  3. I just finished Wild Goose Chase by Terri. I am not a murder mystery reader, as a rule. This was such a treat to read a mystery that I could SO relate to! Of course all the things she talks about in the CA area were familiar to me as well.

Thanks for turning me on to this book Jaye! I will read this newest one later this winter. 🙂

Oh, I didn’t mind the spoiler. I was relieved to hear Dewey fired Kym. I wanted Kym to be the murderer in the first book, as I was so tired of her! lol

  4. Thanks for your kind words!! It’s nice to hear. I was surprised when Kym got fired, too. But of course it made perfect sense.

Of course keeping Kym down might prove tough.

  5. How funny that you were surprised, too, Terri! I guess that is writing. I think Dewey grew up a lot in Old Maid’s Puzzle. Oh, I am sure Kym will certainly be back. I wouldn’t be surprised if she gets a job in another quilt shop and tells them Quilter Paradiso secrets.
