Again, I was influenced by SherriD’s ‘glimmer’ response. I am working on adding lots of details.

Response: Core

I am trying to get back in the saddle and not let all of the prompt responses languish. Here is my most recent response, Core. I’ll work on the detail for next week.

Purple Journal Page
Purple Journal Page

This isn’t the response I wanted to put up. The prompts are stacking up, however and I was starting to get anxious. As I looked through the journal pages from the  A Work of Heart session/class, I found this page and thought you might enjoy seeing it.

I worked really hard on the studies for a drawing response to Purple that I can’t just let go. Look for another Purple response some day.

CPP Response #34
CPP Response #34

Summer was a difficult prompt. It is hard to draw (my mode of expression in the CPP, mostly) an expression of summer without people. I do find a few people or parts of people starting to creep into my studies for the CPP responses. Hhmmm. Let me know what you think and I can’t wait to see what you come up with.

Check out Kathy’s Bliss Initiative, which is on Creativity this week.

Creative Prompt Response: Spiral #33
Creative Prompt Response: Spiral #33

After working so hard on the detail on last week’s response, I find that this one doesn’t have enough detail. I did a number of studies and couldn’t figure out what else to add so I am just posting it.

On one hand, the art on the wall of the dining room has a lot of detail. Perhaps it balances the sparseness of the rest of the drawing?

After looking at a few of my recent drawings and I realized that I hadn’t been adding as much detail as I had in the past. I had some bits of time this week, so I decided to try and add a few more details to this one. This is the second attempt, but I am pretty pleased with how it came out.

Yes, I am moving furniture around. 😉

Response to Awakenings
Response to Awakenings

I looked at Jill’s response (Quilt Rat) as soon as she posted it and I was lost. Her response was so perfect that I couldn’t think of anything. I tried different ideas and nothing seemed as perfect as her response. Finally, the next Friday’s response appeared and I knew I just had to do something and not be a slacker. That slippery slope is so easy to get on….

So, for better for for worse, here is my response. It is inspired by a magazine picture I cut out years ago. The inspiring picture is a close-up of a tea tray. I tried to incorporate some of the elements from other responses into this one to keep up some of the continuity.

Linda M.Poole CPP Success

I am so pleased to relay Linda’s good news about her upcoming fabric line for Avlyn. She also gives me / Artquiltmaker.com some kudos, which I also appreciate.

WOO HOO…HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

I am truly excited to announce my collaboration with Avlyn Fabrics as one of their fabric designers. My first collection is fun, fresh, and whimsical.
The kind of fabric that makes you happy!

When I first put my pencil to paper, my thoughts were of you, the quilter, sewer and crafter. We LOVE color and that was a no brainer for me as I am a huge lover of color too. I designed this first collection with some of the things I love……can you tell I am being quite secretive??? Believe me, I am full of anticipated excitement to show you the finished fabrics…..but we are still working on a “name” and finishing up the coordinates. I know in my heart you will love it!
