I will be glad when this project is done. I wanted to finish last week, but there was too much going on. I thought I could make some progress this past week in the evenings. No joy there either. Today, I am supposed to be resting, because of this cold that I am trying to have not turn into the flu.

And this is the last year for bulk pillow making. I still have to make the raffle pillows for the Native Sons and I may make a pillow every once in a while for a special teacher, but that is it. If I go back on my word feel free to remind me.

Anyway, the above pillow is for the art teacher. She has been a rock for the Young Man and has really encouraged his creativity and has encouraged his style. The pattern is Martha Washington Star from Around the Block.

The blue and yellow pillow is Greek Cross for the religion teacher. It actually came out really well. I used my last IKEA pillow form and kind of like those forms. I wanted more robust forms, but the ones I bought are REALLY really firm and forced me to make the pillow covers a bit bigger.

  1. I COULD but the fabric is already paid for! lol I found some patterns last night and it is supposed to rain this afternoon. All that sounds like a possible combination for a fun sewing frenzy! 😀

    1. I don’t like waiting until the last minute to decide on a gift. I also don’t like trying new patterns, especially for 3D objects as I am usually short on time and there is a big margin for error. JMO.

      1. Buying them something would not be my style! lol
I had been planning to do a tote or something like this all along, I just hadn’t noticed time creeping up on me!!! (and I had been in that funk with the studio too) For a time, I was worried I wouldn’t feel like doing anything!!!

I finished the four bags tonight though and they turned out really cute…in my humble opinion anyways!
If it wasn’t for you talking about your teacher pillows, I would have forgotten it was about that time again too, so thank you! 😀

        1. When making gifts for teachers, I think it is a good idea to have a number of projects that are easy to make but provide a lot of bang for the making buck. If I don’t feel like one project I have some alternatives. I also think it is a good idea to do a project that you have done before so it doesn’t become a miserable disaster with a deadline.
