Carrie, one of my students, has been sewing up a storm of bags. She is on the Door Prize team and has just blossomed into an amazing and very creative bag maker. She has also been finding random patterns that interest her for free on the web.
She made a few of these Accordion pouches and they came out really well. She said they were easy to make, but hard to make perfectly.
I think it looks like a very cute pouch. I can see using something like this in my handbag. I seem to have a lot of random items rolling around in it, which could be corralled in this little pouch.
It could certainly be used for sewing as well. I can see putting smaller items in it for travel to retreats or Sew Day, then putting it into the Kit Supply Tote. I might have to make one of these just to try it out, not that I don’t have 500 other projects on which to work.
I love the look of these accordion pouches, very unique.
I don’t have a good sense of their size. They could be quite useful for clips and…..

These Accordion Pouches are fun to sew. Sue G also sewed two of them and she did a better job sewing her pouches than I did. The two I sewed are in this year’s raffle bags for the BAM guild. Sue’s are going into next year’s raffle bags. The pouch is about 5”x 6”. I might try and make one a couple inches bigger and see how it turns out. I am always so surprised at how easy to follow these DIY videos are.

Good to know. I can’t wait to see them larger. Have you thought of making them with vinyl? It would be easier to see what was inside, but I wonder how it would be to sew?

I have not thought about sewing them using vinyl. I’m trying to think if using vinyl would be harder or easier to sew with this pouch. I’m thinking harder given the number of layers you sew through and the stickiness of the vinyl. I like vinyl pouches though because it’s really nice to be able to see what’s in the pouch. Very user friendly.
Maybe just sew a few pieces with vinyl like the front and back? I use tissue paper to keep vinyl from being too sticky
