I thought this quilt was a great use of Black and white fabrics (white on black and black on white), AND a great and different use of the Denyse Schmidt pattern from her book Denyse Schmidt Quilts. I like the very graphic nature of the fabric choices.

You always come up with the most delightful quilts! i really like this one – it would be a good pattern for my son, although I think he would prefer if I changed the hot pink color!

I find these groups of quilts and then slowly look through. I am working on the Denyse Schmidt pool on Flickr, as you probably read. Some of the stuff is not my speed,b ut there are a few that I really like and are inspiring.
The hot pink is only the back and I think this quilt would be a snap to make. I want to make one with some blues. Haven’t gotten it to the top of the list yet.
I am still giggling over your comment about the cookies. I promise on all that is fiber that no ingredients have been left out- in fact it’s vital that you use all the spices in the quantities stated, which doesn’t seem wrong, until you have the pile growing in the bowl and realize that 2 tsp. of ground ginger is a lot. The parchment paper is key to getting a decent cookie, too. And even if you accidently “over bake” them, the worst case scenario is still a tasty, if somewhat crisp-ish, sugary bite of molasses-heaven.
p.s. resend me your addy, because I have some spots for your stash! Type at you soon. C
Thanks, Camilla. Glad to know you are not one of THOSE cooks. I want to make the cookies and have also sent the recipe to my sister who is trying to win a cookie contest. Am working on a quilt block for the family you discussed on your blog. My heart goes out to them!
