This year’s shape is a 3.5″ square and I have an idea to do a kind of waterfall effect. Stay tuned to see what actually happens!
I had two fabri-lanches in the past few days, so I finally started pressing fabrics and cutting the squares for Fabric of the Year 2013.
There are fabrics for projects in process and also fabrics that just came up on the ‘to press’ pile. I might need to take a day off work that I dedicate to pressing fabric.

Mine was a surprise! It wasn’t in the fabric closet as usual, but it got me in gear to press fabrics, so I guess that was fine.

I was thinking about starting one, too, just have to check if I still have fabrics from things I finished. Oh, and I’ll have to figure out a shape and size… Maybe 1 1/2″squares?:)
1.5″ squares would finish to 1″, which is pretty small. I like seeing the fabric. There is a push and pull there. With large prints, there is no way to see the entire motif, so I sometimes cut 2 in different areas.
