I looked at Jill’s response (Quilt Rat) as soon as she posted it and I was lost. Her response was so perfect that I couldn’t think of anything. I tried different ideas and nothing seemed as perfect as her response. Finally, the next Friday’s response appeared and I knew I just had to do something and not be a slacker. That slippery slope is so easy to get on….
So, for better for for worse, here is my response. It is inspired by a magazine picture I cut out years ago. The inspiring picture is a close-up of a tea tray. I tried to incorporate some of the elements from other responses into this one to keep up some of the continuity.
What???? No whip cream on that croissant? 😀
I wouldn’t dare! My french friends would kill me!
Oh Jaye…….awakenings was a tough one……it took me several attempts to come up with that odd bird. BTW I’m with Sherri..we want more whipped cream. 🙂
Quilt Rat, it is good to know I wasn’t the only one who struggled. Perhaps a struggle once in a while is good?
More whipped cream? But not as much as this: https://artquiltmaker.com/blog/2009/09/whipped-cream/
You guys are so hard to please. 😉
This looks great! I’m falling behind(er)… … …
Just do what you can, Kathy!
WE’RE hard to please? Oh P-L-E-A-S-E!!!! We just like challenging you! lol You know, I often live for just seeing your progress on projects, right? You inspire and keep my creative juices flowing. Though I don’t always MAKE something, reading your blog has helped me to NOT give up.
Also YOU are DIRECTLY responsible for the last two U is for Unicorn blocks that I did last week. I was going to quit and you commented on one of them. That in turn, inspired me to do those last two. Hubby OFTEN hears me say, “It’s Jaye’s fault” here. 🙂
Oh great! Now I have worry about guilt from across the country! Just kidding. I am really glad that putting up info about my process is helpful. All of you regular readers have really helpful opinions.
I am glad to know that I am influencing you a little bit as well. Never give up!!! I started this blog when I was stuck and it really got me going. Now I have so many ideas I can’t keep up.
I am glad you did the last two blocks. That is a great project and you have come so far. Never give up.
You are quite the troublemaker, aren’t you? 🙂 I read all your comments. I updated the web page with all the blocks (http://lazyquilter.com/UIsForUnicorn/) Now I will probably HAVE to at least finish another block for this quilt!!! lol
I was just asking! 😉
